International Terminal Building
PA & Fire Alarm Integration
Challenge
A newly constructed international terminal building required a public announcement system fully integrated with the fire alarm network. The design had to ensure code-compliant voice evacuation, zone logic that matched the building's operational layout, and seamless handoff between operational paging and emergency messaging.
Approach
ITS designed the PA system and fire alarm integration as a unified architecture from the outset. Zone mapping was coordinated between the fire alarm panel and the PA routing matrix, ensuring that fire alarm signals trigger the correct voice evacuation messages in the correct zones without delay. The voice evacuation system was designed for speech intelligibility across all terminal areas, accounting for the acoustic challenges of large open concourse spaces.
Outcome
The terminal building was commissioned with a fully integrated PA and fire alarm system delivering code-compliant voice evacuation, operational paging, and automated messaging from a single unified platform.
